After being teased with diva themed DVDs and left wanting
more after WWE matches we may have an answer. E! has presented WWE fans and
Diva fans with a new show. This show is called "Total Divas". This
show allows fans to get a peak of the real lives of five WWE Divas. These women
are Natalya Neidhart, Nikki and Brie Bella also known as The Bella Twins, and Cameron
and Naomi also known as the Funkadactyls. We are also going to be introduced to
Divas in the making Joseann Offerman and Natalie Eva Marie. We do see some
glimpses of Jojo and Natalie but for now the first look is focused on our
Fabulous Five.
"I get it; you want to be a Bella Twin. I mean if I
wasn't a Bella Twin, I would want to be a Bella Twin"
These words are stated by
Nikki Bella. She is also coined as Naughty Nikki but we won't get into that at this
time. This first look shows that some of these women will be crying and showing
their emotional sides. At one point Nikki Bella is shown wiping tears away from
her face. Natalya is shown hugging her significant other fellow WWE Superstar
Tyson Kidd and Cameron is shown smooching a man we may find out is her
boyfriend. The Funky Naomi is seen crying and her equally funky counterpart
Cameron is shown comforting her. There are glimpse of WrestleMania 29. If you
are fan you will note that the match involving The Bella Twins and The Funkadactyls
was cut from the program because of time constraints. Was that the reason Naomi
was crying? Will we get to see what happened backstage after these ladies found
out their match was cut? I think anything is possible on this show.
As a Divas fan and a supporter of
women's wrestling I can't help but feel my views are conflicted. I love that
these five divas have an hour to show the world who they are. Part of me would
love for them to have time to showcase their talents in a wrestling ring. This
is a big step in the right direction for the WWE Divas. But I start to question
even more. Are The Bella Twins the stars of this show? They seem to be the main
focus of the show and what people report about the show. In WWE reports as
well as E! reports, they seem to be the main focus of
the articles. They attended the E! premiere for the show and everyone
likes to call it, "The Bella Twins" show, so is it
really 'Total Divas?' Or is it 'Total Bellas?' Did the twins
return for the show? As most know they were formerly The Bella Twins as they
took a hiatus from the WWE ring. They cited being tired and run down which is
completely understandable. But the return seemed to be so sudden. All of a
sudden The Bella Twins return and we found a few weeks later they are to
be featured on a new show. No coincidence there. Since I am a fan of
trashy and not so trashy reality television I want to see where this show is
going. I'm already invested in being a WWE fan and hopefully more people
will find these ladies appealing.
In my eyes I see the show and these
women in this light:
Nikki Bella: very egotistical and
narcissistic. She will be the one that people will love to hate. We may get a
glimpse of what her "relationship" is like with the current face of
the company who seems he may falling from his current pedestal.
Brie Bella: will be the complete
opposite of her sister. She will also be an example of a woman who is in a
successful relationship with a WWE Star. Naomi: hopefully we will see her true
character develop.
Naomi: hopefully we will see her true character develop
Cameron: I would love to see what
Cameron is all about. She seems super sweet and I think nothing ruffles her
feathers more than a "Damn Bella Twin"
Natalya: the one we need to root for. She is the most talented in-ring
performer of the bunch. She is from a wrestling family so this business
is her blood. Will we get to see her true feelings about her place in
the WWE currently?
All in all, I'm excited to see what
will happen as we learn more about this show. I'll be even more excited when we
see the first episode of the show. I will be doing weekly recaps of the show
and possibly some little surprises along the way. I am excited and ready for a
wild total divalicious ride.
